Return Policy
Effective Date: August 20th, 2026
Last Updated: August 20th, 2026
We want what you ordered to arrive quickly and work the way it should. Most of what we sell is regulated, and once a regulated item transfers to you it cannot come back to us — so the rules below differ by category. Find your category and you will know where you stand before you buy.
This policy works alongside our Terms of Service and our Shipping Policy.
Inspect Before You Accept
This is the single most important thing on this page. When your firearm arrives at the receiving dealer, inspect it carefully before you sign for the transfer. Check the finish, the function, the serial number, and the contents of the case against what you ordered.
Once you accept the transfer, the firearm is legally yours and cannot be returned to us. If something is wrong, do not accept it — tell the dealer, and call us right away at (480) 866-8624 while the firearm is still in their possession. Almost every problem is fixable at that moment and almost none of them are fixable afterward.
New Firearms and Lower Receivers
New firearms and lower receivers are final sale once the transfer is complete. This is a function of how federal law treats a firearm that has been transferred to a private individual, not a preference on our part.
New firearms carry the manufacturer’s warranty, which passes through to you. If a new firearm has a defect, call us first. We will tell you whether it is something we can resolve directly, and if it belongs with the manufacturer we will open the case with them on your behalf and stay on it until it is closed. You should not have to chase a warranty claim you bought from us.
Used, Consignment, and Trade-In Firearms
Used firearms are sold as-is. Every one of them is function-checked and honestly described before it goes out, and we will tell you what we know about a gun’s history and condition — but a used firearm carries no manufacturer warranty and no warranty from us.
This makes the inspection at transfer more important, not less. Look the gun over carefully at the receiving dealer before you sign. If it does not match how we described it, do not accept the transfer, and call us while it is still in the dealer’s hands. We will make that right.
Transfers That Are Not Completed
If a firearm arrives at your receiving dealer and the transfer is not completed within 14 days, we cancel the order and the firearm is returned to us.
If the transfer failed for a reason within your control — a background check denial, ineligibility to receive the firearm, a decision not to pick it up, or simply not going in — we refund the purchase price less original shipping, return shipping of $30, and a restocking fee of 15%.
If the transfer failed for a reason that was not your fault — we shipped the wrong item, we shipped to the wrong dealer, the item arrived damaged, or the receiving dealer could not complete the transfer through no fault of yours — you owe nothing. We refund in full, including shipping, and we cover the return.
If you are not sure which situation applies to you, call us. We would rather sort it out on the phone than have you assume the worst.
Suppressors and Other NFA Items
Suppressors and other NFA items are final sale. They cannot be returned once transferred.
If you change your mind before we file
You may cancel at any time before we submit your application to the ATF. We refund you in full, less any third-party fees already paid on your behalf. We will confirm with you in writing before we submit, so you always know where that line is.
If your application is denied
If your ATF application is denied, we refund the full purchase price of the item and all sales tax, less any fees we have already paid out on your behalf and a $25 processing fee for the work involved. We will itemize those costs for you rather than deducting a lump sum.
If your application is returned without action
If the ATF returns your application without action, we will resubmit it at no additional charge once you have resolved the underlying issue. If you decide not to resubmit, the denial terms above apply instead.
Ammunition, Optics, Magazines, Holsters, Knives, Parts, and Accessories
These are final sale. Ammunition cannot be returned for safety reasons once it has left our possession, and the rest of this category is not returnable.
Most of these products carry manufacturer warranties. If something fails, call us — we will help you open the claim and follow it through.
Sutpen’s Hundred Branded Merchandise
Unworn branded merchandise may be returned within 30 days of receipt, in original condition with tags attached. Return shipping is the customer’s responsibility.
Apparel that has been washed or worn, or that shows damage from use or improper care, is not returnable. We do not cover the natural fading or breakdown of fabric over time.
Wrong or Missing Items
If we sent the wrong item or your order arrived incomplete, contact us and we will make it right at our expense. There is no time limit on our own mistakes.
Lost or Damaged in Shipment
Damaged and missing shipments are handled as carrier claims under our Shipping Policy. In short: report damage within 7 days, and report a package that tracking shows as delivered but never arrived within 14 days. Photograph the packaging before unpacking anything further, and contact us promptly.
How to Start a Return
Contact us before shipping anything back. Returns sent without authorization may be refused.
Phone: (480) 866-8624, 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM Arizona Mountain Time
Email: troy@sutpenshundred.com
If your return is authorized, we email a shipping label for you to print. Pack the item as it arrived.
Refunds
Refunds are issued to the original payment method once we have received the item and completed inspection. Depending on your bank, a credit typically posts 3 to 5 business days after we issue it.
We do not offer exchanges. If you want something different, place a new order — our inventory moves quickly and ordering right away is the surest way to get the item you want.
Returns We Cannot Accept
If we receive something that does not qualify under this policy — a final-sale item, an item damaged through misuse, or an item not purchased from us — we will contact you and arrange to send it back. We will confirm return shipping costs with you before charging anything.
We reserve the right to limit or decline returns, including where a pattern of returns suggests the policy is being misused.
Questions
If anything here is unclear, ask before you buy. We would rather spend ten minutes on the phone up front than have you find out about a restriction after the fact.
