WHY SUTPEN'S HUNDRED.
It’s a Faulkner novel, not a typo. We picked a name almost nobody would recognize on purpose — same reason there’s no gun on the sign out front. Come in and we’ll explain the rest over coffee.
The short version
A couple of passionate dudes WALK INTO AN FFL APPLICATION.
Sutpen’s Hundred opened in 2021 because we wanted somewhere different: a place where you could walk in and talk to an actual person, not square off with a “tactical operator” trying to out-cool you at the counter. Somewhere that could walk a first-time buyer through exactly what fits their life, just as easily as it could track down the boutique piece nobody else in town carries. Phoenix didn’t need another gun store. It needed a better one.
The face of the shop

Manager
Troy managed a pawn shop for over a decade before this — and genuinely loved it. Before that, and running alongside it, he spent years in high-end private security: access control, surveillance, real threat assessment for businesses and homes. He understands a firearm is one piece of a bigger picture, not the whole answer.
He’s not a gun-counter personality. He’s the guy who’ll spend twenty minutes with someone who’s only there to spend $500, because that conversation matters as much as the $5,000 one. His wife and daughters trust his recommendations. That’s the bar we hold for every conversation that happens here.
Why it exists

Owner
Stuart loves the guns themselves: the craftsmanship, the culture, the freedom that comes with owning and using them responsibly, and having a place where that conversation can happen with no agenda attached. He’s less interested in running a big operation than in having a shop worth hanging out in himself.
